Michaela DePrince is in the news again, this time thanks to a feature in the August issue of Glamour Magazine.
DePrince, as you may recall, is the Sierra Leone-born ballerina whose journey from an orphan – shunned for her vitiligo – to an internationally renowned ballerina, has captured the attention and hearts of dance lovers around the world.
These days, after a brief stint with the Dance Theatre of Harlem, DePrince, 20, is a rising star with the Dutch National Ballet where she is listed as a coryphee’. “Taking Flight,” DePrince’s autobiography, is currently being made into a movie.
