Dance: Joffrey’s Erica Lynette Edwards To Retire After “Nutcracker”

The Joffrey Ballet of Chicago announced last week that dancer Erica Lynette Edwards will retire after this December’s performances of “The Nutcracker” to become the company’s new director of Community Engagement. Edwards succeeds Pierre Lockett who retired from the position earlier this year.

Edwards had been with the Joffrey since 2000. During that time she had also done Community Engagement work including teaching at Chicago schools and even conducting tours of the Joffrey’s headquarters.
